Our Kids (OK) highly recommends a trip to House of Bounce. It is a 6,400 square foot, indoor playcenter. And this playcenter’s highlights include its supersized inflatables, accommodating coffee lounge, and exceptionally royal party room.
The Highlights:
Inflatables
The quantity of inflatables is less than Kids N Motion in Woodbridge (see OK review), but the quality is comparable. There are two double slides, one of which has two obstacle course inflatables adjacent to it on either side. The obstacle courses appear to be easy to navigate, but one of them is against a wall, which means a slightly obstructed view of your kids.
There is also one supersized moonbounce, which is ideally situated where parents can keep an eye on their children while they relax in the coffee lounge.
Don’t forget the required socks for children and parents alike.
Coffee Lounge
This is not just a few uncomfortable benches with some stale coffee. This is a coffee lounge that makes you feel at home, and also makes you wish you had one in your own home! There are three supersized (once again) couches, numerous club chairs, various types of complimentary flavored coffee, and a wide variety of current magazines from which to choose. The most accommodating treat was when the staff person walked into the coffee lounge arms stacked with soft drinks, and offered complimentary beverages to all parents. The coffee lounge gives parents the opportunity to relax while also keeping a close eye on their kids.
Please note that no outside food or drinks are allowed.
Party Room
Has your child always dreamed of having their own throne? Then, this is the perfect birthday party spot for your little prince or princess. This room oozes royalty! Besides being delectably decorated, there are several picnic tables for the kids, and a spotless mini-kitchen is attached. The party packages, which include 25 kids, start at $349.
Additional Highlights
Inflatables are in excellent condition, facility is clean and colorfully carpeted (with the exception of the wood floored coffee lounge), ceiling fans help to keep the facility cool and the air circulating, the bathrooms and party room can be entered directly from the playcenter, “magic soap” dispensers and a water fountain are in the playcenter, fun music can be heard throughout the building, and the House of Bounce is very safe as the entry/exit door locks after guests enter.
The Drawbacks:
The House of Bounce did not appear to be concerned with emphasizing the rules to children and/or parents. Being short-staffed may have been the reason on this particular day. When we arrived, the staff person was on the phone discussing a birthday party, processing our entry, and beginning to process the next entry all at the same time.
If you are traveling from Interstate 95, it will require much more travel time than a trip to Kids N Motion. On the flip side, if you live in Manassas or Woodbridge, you can “bounce” right over.
The House of Bounce does not have a daycare license. Therefore, they do not offer any additional programs besides birthday parties, such as camps, Parent Nights Out, etc. On the flip side, they do offer Bounce and Lunch for groups with 20 or more kids.
Open bounce hours are Monday through Friday only. They appear to vary week to week, so please consult their website. Cost is $9 per child, and $5 for children under the age of two for 1.5 hours of open bounce. They offer an open bounce pass for 10 bounces at $60, which is a $30 savings.
The House of Bounce does not have any additional activities/toys to engage the two and under age group. On the flip side, the coffee lounge is large enough for the little ones to play on the floor with a few toys brought from home without getting in the way of the active House of Bouncers!
