Public Invited to First-Ever Horse Expo at Frying Pan Farm Park

Experienced riders, plus people who have never seen a horse in person, are all invited to the Horse Expo at Frying Pan Farm Park on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program is free, but guests are asked to register in advance.

โ€œFor a long time, Frying Pan Farm Park has been a staple of the local horse community, hosting horse shows here in Herndon for more than 40 years. We want the Horse Expo to introduce new people to horse-related sports and activities and be a networking opportunity for equestrians and the businesses that serve them,โ€ Frying Pan Farm Park Manager Nicole Mitchell said.

The Horse Expo will include food trucks, speakers, a parade of horse breeds, horse-related products and services, and demonstrations by groups, such as the Topaz Vaulters, whose riders perform gymnastics on the backs of moving horses.

โ€œThis will be a great opportunity for parents to learn about horse-related sports their children can get involved in, such as dressage, hunter-jumping, mounted archery and western riding,โ€ Mitchell said.

The park plans to have roving โ€œequine ambassadorsโ€ on hand to answer questions. Horse experts will also give talks, such as โ€œWhat to Do When Your Child Asks for a Pony,โ€ presented by Clover Brooke Stables owner Amy Fries, and โ€œEquine Chiropractic and Acupuncture,โ€ presented by Dr. Laurel Marley, DVM, CVA, VSMT.
